The European Union is an international union of countries located on the continent of Europe. It has authority over certain aspects of trade, movement, currency, economy and foreign policy of it's 28 sovereign member states.

The The European Union consists of two houses:
- Upper House - Council of the European Union, made up of one member for each member state.
- Lower House - European Parliament, made up of 720 MEPs elected in special elections.
As of 2025, in the European Parliament there are 12 registered European political parties represented:
European People's Party (largest, minority), represented by the EPP Group
Party of European Socialists, represented by the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats
Patriots.eu, represented by Patriots of Europe
European Conservatives and Reformists Party, represented by the ECR Group
European Christian Political Party, represented by the ECR Group
Nordic Freedom, represented by the ECR Group
ALDE Party, represented by Renew Europe
