Paleolibertarianism is a right-libertarian political ideology that emerged in the United States during the late 1980s and early 1990s by anarcho-capitalist theorists Murray Rothbard and Lew Rockwell, with a particular emphasis on the perceived incompatibility of cultural egalitarianism with the values of liberty, property, religion and natural order.

It is an offshoot of both the American paleoconservative & libertarian movements, developed both as a political strategy to appeal to the American working & middle class, and as a reaction against the perceived growing influence of social liberalism within the American libertarian movement. The ideology is strongly opposed to interventionist foreign policy, the New Deal, protectionism and the growing power of the federal government.
