The Democratic Party (USA) is a party in the
United States. Formed in 1828, it was formed upon the ideals of classical liberalism, states' rights, limited government, and expansionism under the pretext of Manifest Destiny. These ideals warped throughout the years as the two parties shifted bases, went through different political eras, all leading to the Democratic Party of today. Now, the Democratic Party mainly works upon the basis of social liberalism, civil rights, and a regulated market economy.
The Democratic Party is now considered one of the two main parties in America's two-party system.
