The Liberal Democrats are a party in the United Kingdom, aiming to be the centrist alternative to either The Conservatives and Labour. It holds values of both economic and social liberalism.

History
The party was founded in 1988 as a merger of the centrist Liberal Party and centre-left SDP. It existed mainly as an alternative to the Tories during the 90s and 00s and during this time, it split into two main cliques being the primarily economically liberal "Orange Book" Liberals and the socially progressive liberals.
Leading up to the General Election in 2010, it very much was expected that the Liberal Democrats would have to choose whether to enter a coalition with Labour or The Conservatives as neither were believed to be able to have a majority. Post-election, the LibDems and the Conservative government formed a coalition government as during this time, the leadership of the LibDems was under Orange Book Liberal Nick Clegg, who was very similar in policy to at-the-time Conservative leader David Cameron.
The coalition government, lasting from 2010-2015, was largely seen a failure for the LibDems, with their promise of a referendum for an alternative voting system being a failure. As a result, in 2015 the coalition broke down and the LibDems received their lowest share of Parliament in history with 8 members, a member count that wouldnt even go up by a half through the elections of 2017 and 2019 where the Conservatives won a majority each time.

In the 2024 General Election, under social progressive leader Ed Davey, the LibDems however notably succeeded getting their highest share of Parliament with 72 MPs and once again becoming the third largest party. Many dissatisfied Tory voters went to the LibDems, in addition to many social progressives from the Labour Party due to leader Keir Starmer's reforms of the party moving Labour towards the political centre and many Pro-Europe and Anti-Brexit voters due to the party's goal of rejoining the European Union post-Brexit. Since then, the party has enjoyed gradual growth with Davey pulling many stunts to appear friendly to the public, bungee jumping and appearing in local silly competitions, which has seemingly worked.

Personality
Eccentric and friendly, if a bit naive at times. Unfriendly to american ideologies but very close to European ones. Often found to be weird by others. LOOOOVES his signs.

How to Draw
#Draw a ball.
#Fill it with white.
#Draw a bird in yellow-gold.
